The EcoPonto.PT platform allows you to quickly and conveniently identify your computer or mobile phone, the location of the nearest collection point and correct disposal of urban waste.
It aims to make available not only the national location of EcoPontos, but also the collection points for recycling of the main non-hazardous municipal waste (organic, food oil, clothing, lamps, batteries, small and large appliances, etc).
It is intended to promote increased selective waste separation and encourage circular economy as a way to contribute to sustainable development and environmental preservation.
Supports the European Commission waste management and recycling initiative in the EU action plan for the circular economy. That is summed up in the statement "if we want to compete we have to make the most of our resources and this means recycling them to give them a new productive use and not to bury them in landfills as waste." European Environment Commissioner Janez Potočnik.
The EcoPonto.PT platform, designed in the course of the INJOVEM - INovação, JOVem, Entrepreneurship project, was awarded in 2018 by APEMETA - Portuguese Association of Environmental Technology Companies.
